PRECIOUS is excited to bring you news of an innovative new project that aims to promote enterprise amongst girls and young women across the UK.
The PRECIOUS Girls project was launched to increase the entrepreneurial confidence of girls and young women and enable them to overcome the perceived barriers to enterprise, and see the value of being entrepreneurial.
Working with schools and colleges across the UK, PRECIOUS Girls wants to help increase entrepreneurial capability and skills and help turn ideas into reality.
On International Women’s Day 2011 PRECIOUS was honoured to co-host an Enterprising Women event that took place at St Matthew Academy, London an inspirational and high achieving school in South East London.
The event featured an amazing line up of female speakers that included ITV newsreader, Charlene White, CEO of Colorblind Cards, Jessica Huie and Natasha Faith the co-founder of La Diosa. It was the perfect
opportunity to launch PRECIOUS Girls.
Our first project was “What’s PRECIOUS to you?” where we asked some of the girls at St Matthew Academy to design a T-shirt based on the person, place or idea that was most PRECIOUS to them.
The girls launched our competition in true style producing a range of T-shirts that showed great skill, imagination and creativity. We were delighted to have our three winners; Tia King, Rosemary Abidoph and Victoria
Maquieira from St Mathew Academy join us at that years awards
We are seeking mentors to help us provide girls with access to practical advice and support and
what better place to look than within our own network.
Can you give two hours a month to help us mentor young girls and women?
Could you donate to help us to provide materials, training and other useful tools to help our budding entrepreneurs gain vital skills?
Your help and/or donation will help us kick start a young person’s entrepreneurial journey. Join us and help us build an army of budding young entrepreneurs. Contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
